Hi!
Finally, we were able to reopen the Pihenősziget. 🙏🥰 We’ve been really looking forward to seeing the children again and having our team back together. ❤️
It’s no secret that my big dream was to be in Szolnok, in the city where we live, where my children go to school, where the Local Government, Associations and Foundations can work WELL together. 🙂
I’m very grateful to the Mayor of Besenyszög, Zoltán Balogh, for providing us the opportunity and space to start. After all, we opened in Besenyszög in autumn 2021 and were able to stay open for 20 weekends. 🙂
However, this weekend the Pihenősziget opened its doors not in Besenyszög, but in Szolnok on Vércse Street. 🙏🥰❤️
Last year, the Day Care for People with Disabilities operated by the Szolnok Micro-region Multi-purpose Association’s Human Service Center expanded with a new location, where they provide care for people with severe, multiple disabilities on weekdays and are still accepting applications. In this wonderful building, we received 2 large, bright rooms, a dining room, kitchen, and an accessible bathroom. 🥰
The entire building is accessible and caters to the needs of all children, even those with complex or physical disabilities. ❤️
I’m very grateful to MP Dr. Mária Kállai, Mayor Ferenc Szalay, Chief Notary Dr. Ildikó Sebestyén, Deputy Notary Dr. Éva Versitz, Anita Hegyi, Director of the Szolnok Micro-region Multi-purpose Association’s Human Service Center, and Ildikó Gyuricza-Vincze, Head of the Social and Integration Department. 🥰
Without their help and permission, we would not have been able to come over to Szolnok. ❤️
This weekend, 7 children enjoyed the new, spacious rooms and got to know every corner of the building. The weather was also on our side, as the children could go out to play in the yard both Saturday and Sunday. 🙂 The first weekend was filled with smiles and laughter. 🥰
When people ask me why I created the Pihenősziget, I tell them it’s because spirited children also need rest, playing together, and outings, and parents need their “me time” to rest too. 🥰
But the Pihenősziget couldn’t run so well week after week if I didn’t have a super team by my side. 🙏🥰 Every colleague loves their work, loves the children, and the children love them too. On Sunday afternoon, families head home tired but happy. 🙂
Parents trust us, bring their children to us, and I don’t need anything more than this trust. 🥰

2. Weekend
The 2nd weekend at the new Pihenősziget in Szolnok has passed. 🥰
The children love it, and we adults also adore the new place. ❤️
Large space, big rooms, large yard. What else could children need. 😀
Seven children played at the Pihenősziget again. They moved around, exercised, got creative, and ate a lot. 🥰
Everyone brought their own little toy, doll, everyone brought some snacks, so no one left us with an empty belly. 😀🥰❤️
Now the children from Szolnok have taken over the Pihenősziget. Atika’s little friend, Brumi, came alone from near Pest, but he also quickly fit in and got used to the new place. 🥰❤️

Another fantastic weekend has ended at the Pihenősziget. 🥰
7 children rested with us. 🙂
I’m very happy because my friend, Edina Kovácsné brought her daughter Emma from near Sopron to us, and finally, after 10 years, she could spend a weekend together with her husband again. 🥰❤️
This was exactly one of the reasons why I created the Pihenősziget. It’s important that parents can recharge and have time for each other too. 🥰❤️ This is the only way they can continue dealing with everyday challenges. ❤️

4. Weekend
Hi!
Another wonderful weekend has come to an end at the Pihenősziget. 
5 children stayed with us this weekend. I’m so happy that good weather is finally coming and the children can spend more time in the yard, go for walks, and explore this area of Szolnok. 
Nagyon boldog vagyok, mert egy új kolléganő csatlakozott csapatunkhoz, Oláh Lívia, aki gyógypedagógusként dolgozik.
It was as if she had been with us from the beginning, as if she had been working with us for a year and a half. The children immediately took her into their hearts and she took the children into hers too. 
The adult members of the team also immediately became friends with her, and this weekend was spent in a really great atmosphere too.

Spring decorations were made for us by my friend, Anita Szendrei and her daughter.
Our group room is getting more and more beautiful and starting to dress up in spring colors.
Boti really loves helping with the children. That’s why he helped out in the yard and pushed Gergő around on the pavement, never leaving him alone. He only went away from him briefly to go with Zselyke to the grass and look for more and more beautiful flowers.
Lili made beautiful works on the pavement, she colored very nicely.
Szeréna really enjoyed the sunshine and enjoyed watching the children play beside her.
Unfortunately, we can only open for 1 more weekend, so we’re quite sad, but our faith doesn’t fade and we trust that we’ll win more grants or receive more financial support.

5. Weekend
The 5th weekend of this year has passed. ❤️
The new Pihenősziget is becoming more and more beautiful, more intimate. Our new colleague and friend, Lívia Oláh, has dressed up the rooms in Easter and spring decorations. 
The children helped her with the decorating where they could.
The weather wasn’t too kind to us, as it rained over the weekend, so the Easter bunny left the little chocolate eggs inside the room.
Now we’re closing the door of the Pihenősziget because we’ve run out of the money we won from the grant! But the Pihenősziget door won’t be closed for long, because the Easter bunny didn’t just bring eggs for the children, but also the prize from a grant we won at the beginning of the year.
We won another 2 million forints!!!

Our first 5-day camp

Our first 5-day camp has ended.
I’ll be honest, I was a bit worried about how the children would feel without their parents for 5 days.
As it usually happens, we had mixed age groups at the Pihenősziget recently. Five came from Szolnok and its surroundings, and four came from Pest and Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén counties.

On Friday, they got to know each other, the place, and the idea of having to stay here. 
There were certainly some who cried because they missed mom and dad very much. But we knew well that everyone would calm down eventually. Some children just need more time, others need less.

There was real division of labor, as we had a shift leader who directed the adults, a ball and toy supervisor who brought the balls and toys to the pool. There was a little one who had a good nap in the shade of the tree.
Thank you to the parents for the delicious fruits and snacks, the children ate them with great enjoyment.
Over the weekend, they searched for pebbles and then painted them. Wonderful works were created.
Ice cream couldn’t be missing from the weekend, so since they couldn’t walk to the ice cream parlor because of the heat, I brought it to them. Some were very sad to miss out on the walk, but it was so hot. 
A special education student contacted us saying she would love to come help at the Pihenősziget a few times during the summer. We found a real treasure in her. Thank you Petra Vincze for being with us for 4 days and helping us. Your future leader will be grateful to fate for you.

The children really enjoyed the animals living on the farm. They could go in with them, pet them, and those who were brave could even hold the little goats in their laps.

Thank you to the leader of the Impulzus Association, Renáta Bakos-Szabó, for rushing to our aid and offering their accessible car, and thank you to Zoltán Nagy for taking the children, playing with them and helping the adults at the farm. Without them, this trip couldn’t have happened because there was a boy in a wheelchair at the Pihenősziget who needed a special car because of the wheelchair. Our Foundation doesn’t have such a car, but the Impulzus Association does and they helped us.

Beautiful works were made (unfortunately no photos were taken of the finished works, but I’ll ask the parents for some and show them to you) ).
). I can say that everyone was tired, but everyone went home today with a good feeling.
I trust that those children who can speak told many stories and went home full of experiences, but I also know that those who cannot express themselves verbally will tell the stories of these 5 days in their own little language.
Last but not least, thank you to the parents for their trust in us. I’m grateful to everyone for letting their precious treasures come to the Pihenősziget for 5 days.
Finally, I speak to you, my Dear Colleagues! I am immensely proud of you and grateful that for 5 days, in the scorching heat, with barely any sleep for days, you were at the Pihenősziget with smiles on your faces.
It’s quite challenging to form a team from children of different ages with different routines and encourage them to follow rules, so sometimes we had to be serious and firm, but I think that despite all this, every child and young adult had a good time. Without following rules, we couldn’t do our work. That’s why there are certainly some rules that children need to follow too.

There was lots of laughter, play, splashing, board games, dog petting, making water balloons and balloon battles, arts and crafts, excursions, eating and drinking, no sleeping but instead playing ball and running around until dawn.
This weekend we’ll open again, but it will just be the usual weekend Pihenősziget.

Mini pihenősziget
Dear Parents!
From February 2023, depending on our financial resources, we welcome children and young adults with special educational needs at the Pihenősziget on weekends.
Ettől az évtől kezdve viszont egy új szolgáltatással is tudunk szolgálni a Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok vármegyében élő gyermekek számára: heti 3 alkalommal fejlesztést kaphatnak gyógypedagógus, logopédus, AAK oktató munkatársunktól az Alapítvány székhelyén.
Last year, we successfully participated in the grant competition announced by the Profilii Foundation. 🙂
To our great joy, work could begin at our Foundation’s headquarters in the fall. 🙂
From part of the grant money, we were able to build an accessible ramp, and from another part, we created an accessible bathroom.
Unfortunately, many children with disabilities have coordination problems, so those who choose us for their child’s development will now be able to enter through a new accessible entrance for their sessions.
So finally, from February 2023, we can open our Mini Fejlesztő Kuckó, the Mini Pihenősziget, where our professionals will provide individual development sessions for children with disabilities and special needs.
Without the Profilii Foundation, this renovation and new initiative could not have happened.🙏🥰❤️
